Zaleks in Wakefield Has Closed

A restaurant in Wakefield that served everything from Greek dishes and seafood to roast beef sandwiches and pizza has closed its doors. According to a poster on the Chowhound site (and confirmed by the dining spot's website), Zaleks on Princess Street is now shuttered, with the folks behind the restaurant saying that they have sold the place in order to be able to spend more time with their family. The note on their website indicates that a new eatery with a  redesigned space and concept will be taking over, though no other details have been given as of yet.

Zaleks has been featured on our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) as a little-known spot to go to for their roast beef sandwiches, fried clams, stuffed grape leaves, and other dishes. A link to the review can be found below:

ZuZu's Cafe and Catering Opens in Wakefield

Another new restaurant has opened in Wakefield, bringing to this northern suburb of Boston a place to get classic American fare.

According to one of our fans on the Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook page, ZuZu's Cafe & Catering has opened on Main Street in the center of town, becoming the second dining spot to open in Wakefield over the past few weeks (the Thai restaurant Red Sugar Cafe being the other). ZuZu's Cafe & Catering serves breakfast, lunch, and an early dinner.

Menu items at ZuZu's Cafe & Catering include breakfast burritos, croissants, sandwiches (including panini and wraps), macaroni and cheese, beef tenderloin, crab cakes, grilled salmon, and chicken cutlets. Desserts include cookies, cheesecake, and brownies.

As indicated by the name, ZuZu's also does catering, with the catering menu featuring a wide array of dishes for pickup or delivery.
