Walloon's Pommes Frites Food Truck Coming to Boston

Another new food truck is on its way to Boston, and this one will be focusing on a very popular food item.

Eater Boston is reporting (via Hub Food Trucks) that Walloon's is going to be hitting the streets of the city, offering hand-cut, twice-fried pommes frites (French fries), with the truck's site showing several sauces offered to go with the fries, including wasabi ginger, smoked basil curry, and sweet maple. In addition to fries, the food truck will also offer deep-fried hot dogs, chili, chicken tenders, and poutine, along with a few beverages.

There does not appear to be a set opening date for the Walloon's truck as of yet, though their events page shows two dates on it--August 15 and September 23.

[August 18 update: UrbanDaddy states that the Walloon's truck plans to debut tomorrow.]

French Fry Heaven Is Opening in Natick; More Coming to the Greater Boston Area

A Florida-based group of shops that features a very popular food item is getting ready to open its first location in the Greater Boston area, and it appears that more branches will be on the way to the area as well.

On Monday, August 12 at 11:00 AM, French Fry Heaven will open at the Natick Mall food court, with the shop offering more than 20 flavor combinations that range from fries that taste like funnel cake to cheeseburger-flavored fries to red hot fries with ghost pepper salt. It appears that more locations of French Fry Heaven will eventually be opening in the Boston area over the coming years, though no details have been given as of yet.

[August 13 update: The Restaurant Hub blog of the Boston Globe has confirmed that French Fry Haven has indeed officially opened in the Natick Mall.]

French Fry Heaven first started out in Jacksonville in 2010 and now has three locations in Florida; its expansion plans include new shops in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Louisiana, and Texas. Its website can be found at http://frenchfryheaven.com/

3 Potato 4 Is Coming to Boston

An eclectic shop in Salem that focuses on French fries (and apparently has an interest in space travel) is going to be opening as many as three locations in Boston.

The Boston Magazine Chowder blog reports that 3 Potato 4 at the Museum Place Mall is eyeing such locations as the Prudential Center in Boston's Back Bay and the W Hotel in the Theatre District as possible spots, while the outer space-themed shop's website states that they "will eventually have three additional locations in Boston." 3 Potato 4 also is looking to open in New York, New Orleans, and Las Vegas.

3 Potato 4 features organic fries in bamboo paper cones, with such dipping sauces as curry ketchup, Thai chili sauce, BBQ, honey mustard, and pesto mayo available. Toppings such as bacon bits and pickled jalapenos are also offered.

The website for 3 Potato 4 can be found at http://3p4shop.com/
