Po Boy in Newton to Debut a Food Truck

Yet another new food truck is coming to the Boston area, and this one will focus on a dish that is popular down south.

According to a post in The Boston Globe, owner Eric Cormier of Po Boy in Newton is planning to debut a food truck by June, with the truck offering chicken, catfish, shrimp, and oyster po boys. The article mentions that the truck could be located in the South Station area, though it is not known if this is definite yet, nor is it known whether the truck will also be at other locations in and around the city of Boston. (Keep checking back for updates.)

[July 14 update: An email from UrbanDaddy last Thursday said that the Po Boy food truck was expected to roll out "this week" (or last week, since it was sent last Thursday). It does not appear that the truck is up and running just yet, but based on the email, it should be any day now.]

Po Boy first opened on Crafts Street in the Newtonville section of Newton in the latter part of 2012, taking over the space where Eugene's Coffee & Hot Dogs and the Crafts Street Cafe had both been.

The address for Po Boy is 67 Crafts Street, Newton, MA, 02458.

Po'Boys Is Opening in Newtonville

It looks like a new dining spot is coming to the Newtonville section of Newton, and based on its name, it will be featuring Louisiana-style sandwiches.

According to a poster on the Chowhound site, Po'Boys is looking to open on Crafts Street, moving into the space where Eugene's Coffee & Hot Dogs and the Crafts Street Cafe had been. An earlier Newton Board of License Commissioners page indicates that the person behind the upcoming spot--Eric Cormier--may be planning to have the new spot open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with proposed hours possibly being 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM seven days a week.

The address for this new sandwich place in Newtonville is: Po'Boys, 67 Crafts Street, Newton, MA, 02458.

[December 20 update: Grub Street Boston reports that Po'Boys is now open. The article mentions that one item that can be found on the menu is a spicy catfish version of the sandwich.]
