South End Buttery Is Opening a Second Location in Boston's South End

It looks like an eclectic cafe and caterer in the South End of Boston is going to be opening a second location nearby.

According to the South End Patch, the South End Buttery on Shawmut Avenue is planning to open a new to-go spot on Clarendon Street, between Columbus Avenue and Tremont Street and about four blocks from their original location. The article mentions that the new Buttery will be serving sandwiches, baked goods, coffees, and teas, though food preparation will be done at the Shawmut Avenue location, as the new spot will not have a kitchen. A small upscale market will also be located within the space, according to the Patch.

Expect a November opening for the second location of the South End Buttery (the lease begins September 1, but the place apparently will not be opening for another two months after that).

[January 13, 2012 update: The new South End Buttery on Clarendon Street has not yet opened, but it is one step closer, as The Boston Globe mentions that the Licensing Board approved a Common Victualler License for the space this week. The article states that the owner hopes to open the new location "as soon as possible."]

[December 14, 2012 update: A post on their Facebook page indicates that the new South End Buttery on Clarendon Street is now open. (Information comes via a post on the We Love Beantown site as well as a post on Eater Boston.)]

The address for this new eatery is: South End Buttery, 37 Clarendon Street, Boston, MA, 02116. The website for the original Buttery can be found at http://www.southendbuttery.com/site/
