The group behind several restaurants and nightclubs in the Boston area and Connecticut are going to be opening a new restaurant and lounge on Boston's waterfront, and it will apparently be an Asian-themed spot.
According to The Boston Herald, Big Night Entertainment is planning to open Shrine Boston, a new place at Fan Pier in the Innovation District (just north of Northern Avenue and just east of where Fort Point Channel opens out into Boston Harbor). The article states that the eating and drinking establishment looks to be a "first-class and high-quality" place with Asian influences, and its 12,000-foot space will be in the same building as Strega and Caffe di Marina.
[January 16, 2012 update: According to The Boston Globe, a liquor license application for Shrine Boston has been delayed by the Licensing Board because there are currently no licenses available at the present time. The article mentions that if a liquor license becomes available over the course of the next 30 days, it will be granted to the dining spot, which is hoping to open sometime this summer.]
Big Night Entertainment is also behind the Red Lantern in Boston's Back Bay, Tosca in Hingham, The Estate in downtown Boston, and three spots at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.
The address for this upcoming restaurant and lounge will be: Shrine Boston, One Marina Park Drive, Boston, MA, 02210.
