Five Guys Burgers and Fries to Open in Downtown Boston
A chain of burger places with a number of locations in the Boston area is getting ready to open its first restaurant in Boston proper.
According to a job post on the Craigslist site, Five Guys Burgers and Fries is planning to open on Summer Street, with a retail update page from The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District indicating that it will apparently be moving into the space where a location of the McDonald's chain used to be. This will be the first Five Guys to open within the Boston city limits, with the closest location to downtown Boston currently being in Medford.
[January 17, 2012 update: According to Eater Boston, Five Guys hopes to open their downtown Boston location in either June or July.]
In addition to its Medford location, Five Guys Burgers and Fries can also be found in Canton, Dedham, Foxborough, Framingham, Gloucester, Hanover, Marlborough, Natick, Randolph, Saugus, Stoneham, Swampscott, and Walpole. New locations are also coming to Burlington and Chelsea soon.
The address for this new burger place in downtown Boston will be: Five Guys Burgers and Fries, 58 Summer Street, Boston, MA, 02110. The website for the burger chain can be found at: http://www.fiveguys.com/

Nitpicker checking in: The Five Guys in Dedham is probably closer to Boston than the one in Medford - it's just over the line from West Roxbury. Trust me, as a Roslindale resident living with two big Five Guys fans, I know this to be true :-).
Closer to DOWNTOWN Boston? Doubt it. I used google's downtown Boston location for the following measurements.
Distance from the Medford location: 4.3 miles, 11 minutes http://g.co/maps/aggaj
Distance from the Dedham location: 11.5 miles, 31 minutes
