Ginger Exchange in Cambridge Looking to Open New Spot in Mission Hill/Brigham Circle

The Mission Hill/Brigham Circle space where an eclectic comfort food spot had been until closing last spring may not be empty much longer, as an Asian restaurant in Cambridge might be opening a new eatery there.

According to Universal Hub, the folks behind the Ginger Exchange on Cambridge Street in Inman Square are seeking permission to acquire the beer and wine license formerly owned by The Savant Project, a Tremont Street restaurant that closed in May of 2011. The article mentions that if all goes as planned, the Ginger Exchange owners would be looking to open a sushi bar in the space, though no other details (including a name) seem to be available at this point in time.

The Ginger Exchange first opened its doors in the fall of 2009, bringing to Inman Square a dining spot that features mostly Japanese fare, including sushi, noodle dishes, and rice dishes.

The address that the restaurant is looking at in the Mission Hill/Brigham Circle neighborhood of Boston is 1625 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02120.
