Roxy's Grilled Cheese Is Opening a Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant in Allston

In January, we mentioned that the owner of the Roxy Grilled Cheese food trucks was planning to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant somewhere in the Boston area. Now we have been able to confirm this, and we also know exactly where the restaurant will be.

The Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog is reporting that James DiSabatino of Roxy's Grilled Cheese has signed a lease for a permanent location of his eatery at 485 Cambridge Street in Allston, which is where North Beacon Street and Brighton Avenue meet (a few blocks west of the heart of Allston Village). The article says that the new spot could be open sometime in the fall.

[January 30, 2014 update: Eater Boston states that the upcoming Roxy's Grilled Cheese restaurant in Allston will offer burgers in addition to grilled cheese sandwiches, and it will also serve beer and wine (the beers will all be in cans because there is no room for taps).]

[February 5, 2014 update: A post from The Restaurant Hub of The Boston Globe indicates that the new Roxy's brick-and-mortar restaurant is planning to open around the end of this month, and that it will also be serving poutine.]

[May 18, 2014 update: According to a message from Roxy's this evening, their new brick-and-mortar restaurant opens next weekend, with hours being 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.]

Roxy's Grilled Cheese first started out in March of 2011 and can now be found at several locations in Boston (depending on the day), including in the Back Bay, the Greenway, Fort Point, Cleveland Circle, and Allston. Their website is at http://www.roxysgrilledcheese.com/
