Nino's Steak & Chop House in Hingham Is Closing

It looks like an Italian restaurant and steakhouse on the South Shore is closing its doors.

According to a veteran poster on the Chowhound site, Nino's Steak & Chop House is planning to close in about six weeks, with the poster saying that it will be "replaced by a white tablecloth, creative American restaurant" and that the new owner has a dining spot "in Town." Nino's first opened nearly 20 years ago on Route 53 near the Weymouth border, featuring Italian dishes such as chicken francese, veal marsala, eggplant parm, and scrod milanese, along with steak dishes such as ribeye, sirloin, and Tuscan flank steak.

The address for this soon-to-close restaurant in Hingham is: Nino's Steak & Chop House, 415 Whiting Street, Hingham, MA, 02043. Its website can be found at http://www.ninossteakandchophouse.com/

[April 6 update: Nino's is now closed.]
