Owner of Sweet Basil in Needham to Open New Restaurant in Wellesley
The person behind a highly-regarded Italian restaurant in Needham is going to be opening a second spot, with this one being in a neighboring town.
Eater Boston is reporting that Dave Becker of Sweet Basil on Great Plain Avenue is planning to open an as-of-yet unnamed eatery in Wellesley, with the dining spot featuring Eastern Mediterranean fare including Greek, Israeli, and Lebanese items. The article says that The Improper Bostonian mentions the 100-seat restaurant will have a full liquor license, unlike Sweet Basil, which is BYOB.
[February 7 update: According to a post from The Swellesley Report, it looks like the name of the new restaurant in Wellesley from the owner of Sweet Basil may be called Juniper, and it will apparently go into the space on Central Street where Milestone has been.]
[March 12 update: A post within the restaurant jobs section of the BostonChefs.com site indicates that Juniper plans to open this summer.]
The address of the new spot from the owner of Sweet Basil has not been given as of yet; as soon as we find out where it will be located, we will post an update here.
