Enso Sushi in Chinatown Has Closed

A Japanese restaurant in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood that featured conveyor belt sushi has closed.

A Twitter post sent today indicates that Enso Sushi on Kneeland Street is now shuttered, with the restaurant's Facebook page stating that "It saddens us to announce that Enso will be closing after the New Year" and that its last day in operation was this past Saturday. The note goes on to say that "We greatly appreciate all those that have supported us this past year."

Enso first opened in December of 2012, with the eatery having a conveyor belt that was used to transport sushi to customers; the belt wound through the space, going past both counter seats and tables.

Another conveyor belt sushi spot closed in the Boston area back in October--Wasabi in Braintree (their Natick location remains open).

The address for this now-closed restaurant in Chinatown was: Enso Sushi, 69 Kneeland Street, Boston 02111.
