The person behind a highly-regarded Italian restaurant in Needham is going to be opening a second spot, with this one being in a neighboring town.
Eater Boston is reporting that Dave Becker of Sweet Basil on Great Plain Avenue is planning to open an as-of-yet unnamed eatery in Wellesley, with the dining spot featuring Eastern Mediterranean fare including Greek, Israeli, and Lebanese items. The article says that The Improper Bostonian mentions the 100-seat restaurant will have a full liquor license, unlike Sweet Basil, which is BYOB.
[February 7 update: According to a post from The Swellesley Report, it looks like the name of the new restaurant in Wellesley from the owner of Sweet Basil may be called Juniper, and it will go into the space on Central Street where Milestone has been.]
[July 3 update: According to the Facebook page of the Wellesley Townsman, Juniper is planning to open on July 9. (Thanks to @rachjournalist for bringing this to our attention.)]
