Bishop's Mediterranean Grill Is Planning to Open in Boston's West End

It looks like a new dining spot is coming to the West End of Boston, and it appears to be moving into the space where another eatery had been for more than 20 years before closing last year.

An email sent today mentions that Bishop's Mediterranean Grill is opening on Staniford Street, with a sign up for the place saying that it is coming soon. A check on the Yellowbook site seems to confirm this, with the address indicating that it will be taking over the former Staniford Cafe space in the small strip of stores that also houses Viva Burrito and a location of Tedeschi Food Shops.

[June 26 update: A post from the "I Remember Bishop's" Facebook page indicates that there is no connection between the now-closed Bishop's in Lawrence and the restaurant coming to Boston's West End.]

[July 16 update: A poster on Twitter tells us that Bishop's Mediterranean Grill is now open; this has also been confirmed by Yelp, with one photo on that site showing the restaurant's menu including such items as Greek lemon soup, chicken shawarma, stuffed cabbage, falafel, hummus, grape leaves, and spinach pie.]

The address for this new restaurant in the West End of Boston is: Bishop's Mediterranean Grill, 70 Staniford Street, Boston, MA, 02114.
