Blackbird Doughnuts Is Opening in Boston's South End

It looks like a new doughnut shop is on its way to Boston, and the people behind it are apparently the same folks who own a popular restaurant and bar in the city.

Eater Boston is reporting that Blackbird Doughnuts is planning to open somewhere in the South End, with an Instagram page for the shop saying that it is a "gallows production." According to EB, an Instagram post from The Gallows, which resides on Washington Street in the South End, shows doughnuts being made, with the hashtag #homework included along with a live link back to the Blackbird Doughnuts page.

It is not yet known exactly where Blackbird Doughnuts might open in the South End, though its Instagram page does say that it could be opening late this fall.

[August 27 update: Boston Magazine states that the address for Blackbird Doughnuts will be 492 Tremont Street, which is in the same area as Cyclorama and Picco (between Berkeley Street and Clarendon Street).]

[January 9, 2015 update: According to a post in The Boston Globe, Blackbird Doughnuts is now open.]
