Osteria Posto Is Opening in Waltham

[Ed note: This article was update on July 15, 2015 to reflect a slight name change for the restaurant, along with an exact address and when it might open.]

The person behind a popular pizzeria, enoteca, and trattoria in Somerville is going to be opening a second location, with this one being in a western suburb of Boston.

The Banker & Tradesman site is reporting that Posto plans to come to Waltham, with the eatery opening at 10 CityPoint, an upcoming mixed-use development that will be located near Exit 27 (Totten Pond Road/Winter Street). Once it opens, it will join the original location of Posto in Somerville's Davis Square, along with other eateries from owner Joe Cassinelli, including The Painted Burro in Davis Square and the new Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar, which moves into the former Rosebud Diner space in the square.

The 10 CityPoint complex may be complete around the middle of 2016.

[July 15, 2015 update: According to a job post within the Craigslist site, the new Posto in Waltham will actually be called "Osteria Posto" and it will be located at 99 Third Avenue, which is within the new CityPoint development.]

[November 23, 2015 update: Eater Boston states that Osteria Posto soft-opens today, with a grand opening taking place a week from today (Monday, November 30); the article also says that the new location of Posto will be a "high-end, yet casual" Italian steakhouse and that it will not be offering pizza.]

[November 30, 2015 update: A couple of press releases sent today confirm that Osteria Posto has its grand opening today, though the restaurant is open for dinner only for the time being, with lunch being added sometime in December.]
