Pizza Pie-er in South Boston Has Closed; Cambridge Location Apparently Changed to A+ Pizza & Grill

It looks like a gourmet pizza place in South Boston has closed its doors, and another location in Cambridge seems to have a new name.

According to one of our readers, Pizza Pie-er in South Boston has apparently shut down--and a call placed to the shop seems to confirm this, as the number has been disconnected. The Providence location of the pizzeria remain open, though it appears that the Cambridge location was sold last year (according to someone at the Providence location) and its name may have changed to A+ Pizza & Grill, based on an online check.

Pizza Pie-er first opened on Old Colony Avenue in Southie in October of 2012, taking over the space where Kiley's Tavern had been.

The address for this now-closed pizzeria in South Boston was 138 Old Colony Avenue, South Boston, MA, 02127. The website for the Providence location can be found at http://www.pizzapie-er.com/ while the website for A+ Pizza & Grill (which is at 187 Hampshire Street) is at both http://www.pizzapieermenu.com/ and http://www.apluspizza.com/
