A new upscale Italian restaurant and tapas bar in East Boston will open its doors on Saturday. Ecco, which is located on Porter Street, had a soft opening earlier this week and will officially open on September 20. The restaurant will feature small plates, full meals, and a variety of martinis and wines, as well as desserts, espresso, and cappuccino.
Ecco resides in the spot formerly occupied by Sablone's and is within site of Santarpio's, a Boston institution famous for its pizza.
