Uncle Pete's Hickory Ribs, a highly rated barbecue joint in Revere, closed its doors for the last time last night. The closing comes not too long after the passing of its owner.
Uncle Pete's, which was considered by many to be one of the best barbecue joints in the Boston area, originally started out in East Boston in the early 1990s, but eventually moved to Route 60 in Revere near the intersection with Route 1. The restaurant featured a variety of barbecue items, including spare ribs, brisket, pulled pork, bourbon steak, and turkey tips.
It is unknown as to whether Uncle Pete's Hickory Ribs will reopen elsewhere in the future. If we hear anything definitive on this, we will post an update.
