The Lower Mills section of Dorchester is now home to a new restaurant featuring upscale pub grub and a variety of beers on tap. The Ledge, a gastropub that will have its grand opening on Friday, August 14, has already been open to private parties this week, as it has had a "soft" opening over the past couple of days. The restaurant has taken over the spot where Donovan's Village Tavern used to be, in the heart of this quiet Dorchester neighborhood on the Milton line.
The Ledge has a full bar along the right side of the restaurant, a dining area partitioned off from the bar along the left side, and additional seating around the bar area. The restaurant will also have an outdoor dining area out back.
The menu at The Ledge features mostly traditional American cuisine and pub grub, including French onion soup, flash-fried calamari, a peach salad, crab cakes, burgers, lobster ravioli, pork chops, steak frites, macaroni and cheese, and a variety of flatbread pizzas. The restaurant's bar includes between 15 and 20 different brews on tap. Prices for entrees are mostly in the teens, with dishes topping out at around $25.
The address for this new restaurant and bar in the Lower Mills section of Dorchester is: The Ledge, 2261 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, MA, 02124.
