A new Thai restaurant recently opened in Arlington, replacing another Thai restaurant that closed earlier this year. Tom Yum Koong II opened its doors for business on Mass. Ave. in Arlington Heights last weekend, moving into the spot where Sala Thai used to be. The new restaurant is the second of its kind to open in the Boston area, with the original Tom Yum Koong being located on Forest Street in Medford Square.
The menu at Tom Yum Koong II features a number of familiar Thai dishes, including shumai, satay, tom yum soup, mango fried rice, pad Thai, tamarind duck, massaman curry, and drunken noodle. A few less common dishes are also featured, such as salmon teriyaki, fried eggs in tamarind sauce, tilapia tempura in sweet and sour sauce, and duck fried rice.
Hours for Tom Yum Koong II are 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM seven days a week.
The address for this new Thai restaurant in Arlington Heights is: Tom Yum Koong II, 1377 Mass. Ave., Arlington, MA, 02476. The phone number is (781) 648-2223. And the Web site (for the original Tom Yum Koong in Medford only, at this point in time) is at: http://www.tomyumkoong.net/
