El Pollo Loco in Chelsea Has Closed

A restaurant in Chelsea that featured flamed-grilled chicken has apparently closed its doors for good. According to posters on the Chowhound site, El Pollo Loco on the Revere Beach Parkway is boarded up, and a poster on the Yelp site states that the restaurant closed sometime around January 1.

Part of a chain of approximately 400 quick-service restaurants, El Pollo Loco in Chelsea offered flame-grilled chicken as well as nachos, tacos, burritos, and other Mexican dishes. The restaurant first opened its doors on the Revere Beach Parkway in the spring of 2008.

Now that the Chelsea location has closed, the only other El Pollo Loco in New England is located in the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Southeastern Connecticut.
