It looks like another new dining spot will soon be opening in Quincy. According to the the licensing section of the City of Quincy website (with extra information provided by the Quincy Farmers' Market site), the Rock Island Food Company is looking to open on Sea Street, which is the road that leads east into the Hough's Neck section of the city. Based on the menu that has been posted on the restaurant's website, the Rock Island Food Company appears to be mainly a breakfast, lunch, and (early) dinner spot featuring a mix of American dishes and seafood, with menu items including chili, clam chowder, lobster rolls, pizza, beef stew, pulled pork, and cod cakes. According to the Quincy Farmers' Market site, the restaurant looks like it is going to be focusing on takeout and delivery.
A poster on our Facebook site indicated that the Rock Island Food Company may be opening by the end of January. We will try to confirm this over the coming days.
[November 8, 2011 update: Nearly two years after first reporting about the place, Rock Island Food Company is now open. Thanks to a poster on Chowhound for bringing this to our attention.]
