A new Irish pub is coming to Reading, opening in the spot where a Chinese and Japanese restaurant has been for a number of years.
According to the Daily Times Chronicle and HomeNewsHere.com, Grumpy Doyle's is in the process of getting a liquor license for their upcoming spot on Main Street at the southern edge of the center of town. The new restaurant is looking to replace Emperor's Choice, which has been located in the space since the mid-1990s.
The public hearing for the acquisition of the liquor license by Grumpy Doyle's will be held on Tuesday, May 11, according to the article.
[July 27 update: Based on a job post within the Craigslist site, Grumpy Doyle's is planning on opening in early September. The job post also indicates that the new dining spot is affiliated with The Port Tavern, a restaurant and pub in Newburyport.]

The restaurant also has a selection of specialty beers, including Belgian ales.]
