A roast beef spot that opened this winter near Porter Square in Cambridge has closed its doors for the time being, and it is not known if/when they will open again.
Several recent checks on Banjo's Roast Beef on Mass. Ave. in North Cambridge have shown the restaurant to be dark and locked up, with a sign indicating that they are temporarily closed for renovations. Phone calls have gone unanswered, and as of last week, it appeared that no work was being done to either the exterior or the interior of the restaurant.
After a rather lengthy delay, Banjo's opened its doors a few blocks west of Porter Square this past February, bringing to the neighborhood a quick-service place featuring roast beef, hamburgers, hot dogs, and more. Over the past few years, two other Banjo's locations have opened (and later closed) in the Boston area, including one in Brockton and another in Weymouth.
As soon as we find out more about the status of Banjo's Roast Beef in Cambridge, we will post an update here.
The address for this closed restaurant (for now) in North Cambridge is: Banjo's Roast Beef, 2072 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140. The phone number is (617) 661-0777.
