Del Frisco's Is Coming to Boston

It appears that a small national chain of steakhouses is going to be opening its first New England location, with a new restaurant planned for the Boston waterfront.

According to the Boston Herald and Grub Street Boston, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House is looking to open in the Seaport District of Boston. Del Frisco's, which, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, started out in New Orleans in 1982 and moved to Dallas in 1985, features a variety of steaks as well as seafood, veal, and lamb.

There are currently a total of eight Del Frisco's restaurants in the United States, including locations in Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Fort Worth, Houston, Las Vegas, New York, and Philadelphia. Del Frisco's is currently owned by Dallas-based Lone Star Funds, which also owns the Lone Star Steakhouse chain.

The exact street address for Del Frisco's is not known at this time, but it will be located in the main building of Liberty Wharf, by the intersection of Northern Avenue and D Street, just east of the World Trade Center.

[February 23, 2011 update: According to CM Communications, the new Del Frisco's in Boston is planning on opening April 23.]
