Pilot Food Program Coming to The Rose Kennedy Greenway

It looks like several food vendors will soon be appearing along the Rose Kennedy Greenway in downtown Boston. An email sent to us by cuePR has indicated that a total of six food carts have been chosen as part of the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy's pilot program to bring meals and snacks to visitors to the park.

The food vendors selected for this program include Clover Food Lab Truck, a vegetarian vendor that currently has a truck by MIT in Cambridge, and will be set up in Dewey Square Park; Silk Road BBQ, which has roadside BBQ stands in Belmont and Cambridge (the Belmont location may actually no longer be around--more to come soon), and will be set up in the Rowes Wharf Plaza; Andale Express, a Mexican spot that currently has a location on nearby Summer Street and will be set up near the Rings Fountain; Beantown Franks 'n Spuds, which will offer hot dogs, roasted potatoes, and corn on the cob from their solar-powered cart also near the Rings Fountain; Going Bananas, a place for smoothies and Italian ice that currently has a store on Salem Street in the North End and will have a cart near the Greenway Carousel; and Boston Pushcart, a place for hot dogs, Italian sausage, and fresh-squeezed lemonade that will be run by the owner of Al Dente and Benevento's in the North End, and which will be located on the Freedom Trail in the North End Park.

All of the food vendors will be open for business starting on Monday, June 14, and all except for Clover will be open for the next five months (Clover will only be open until the end of June).
