A classic "townie" restaurant and bar in Cambridge that had been in business for more than a half century has closed its doors.
According to the Cantabrigia blog, Guido's on Belmont Street (near the Watertown and Belmont borders) closed earlier this summer, apparently due to rising rents. The restaurant and watering hole, which first started out in the 1940s, featured a mix of bar food, Italian dishes, and classic American fare, including chicken wings, garlic bread, antipasto, steak tips, burgers, pork chops, veal parmigiana, shrimp scampi, ziti with meatballs, and ravioli.
The address for this now-closed restaurant and bar in Cambridge was: Guido's, 13 Belmont Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.
