Ice Cream Showdown to Be Held in Somerville and Boston, August 21-22, 2010

An ice cream event that took place last August returns to the Boston area later this month, with this one taking place over a two-day period in two different locations.

On Saturday, August 21 and Sunday, August 22, Union Square in Somerville and the SoWa district of Boston will both be home to Ice Cream Showdown, which is sponsered by Stonyfield and headed up by Eat Boston. This year's event will be broken up into an Ice Cream Showdown North on Saturday in Union Square, with b.good, Chilly Cow Custard, Christina's, JP Licks, Picco, Stonyfield, and Toscanini's participating, and Ice Cream Showdown South on Sunday in SoWa, with Batch, b.good, Chilly Cow Custard, Picco, Stonyfield, and Toscanini's participating.

Ticket prices are $8.00 for each event, and local organizations such as Arts Union, Community Servings, Lovin' Spoonful, Share our Strength, and Somerville Local First will be benefitting from the funds raised from the event.

Each of the Ice Cream Showdown events will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
