Based on information from two different sources, it appears that the group behind a couple of restaurants in downtown Boston has filed for bankruptcy.
According to an article in The Boston Herald, Ivy Restaurant Group, Inc., has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, with an estimated debt somewhere between $100,000 and $500,000. A posting on the freecourtdockets.com website indicates that the filing occurred on August 2.
Ivy Restaurant Group, Inc. owns two restaurants on Temple Place in downtown Boston--Ivy, an upscale Italian cafe, and Stoddard's Fine Food and Ale, a gastropub-style dining and drinking establishment. Ivy is located at 49 Temple Place, while Stoddard's Fine Food and Ale is located at 48 Temple Place.
There is no indication at the present time that either restaurant has closed, as a job posting for both places was put on the Craigslist site one day after the filing. If this changes, we will post an update here.
