Uchef Opens in Allston

A Brazilian restaurant and bakery has just opened its doors in Allston, bringing to the neighborhood a place to get quick-food items and various breads and cakes. Uchef is now open on Brighton Avenue, just west of Harvard Avenue in the space where the Mexican dining spot Burritos on Fire used to be until closing in early 2009.

Based on the menu page at the Foodler site, Uchef features such inexpensive fast-food items as beef snack pies, breaded hot dogs, chicken croquettes, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Also on the menu are baked goods such as Brazilian rolls, bread filled with coconut, orange cake, and yucca with coconut cake. Desserts include flan, mango mousse, corn pudding, and a pineapple torte. Uchef features a number of juice options, such as acai, wild cherry, cocoa, guava, and passion fruit. Prices for most food items are extremely cheap, with most dishes being under $5.

The address for this new Brazilian eatery in Allston is: Uchef, 174 Brighton Ave, Allston, MA, 02134.
