It looks like a New York-based group of burger restaurants will soon be opening a location in the Back Bay of Boston.
According to Adam's Hospitality & Tourism Industry Blog and Grub Street Boston, 5 Napkin Burger is planning to open in the Prudential Center, taking over the space where a location of the American restaurant chain Daily Grill had been for about two years before closing late this spring. Grub Street Boston mentions that 5 Napkin Burger will have the same menu as its three New York locations, and that it may be open by December.
[March 10, 2011 update: According to Devra First of The Boston Globe, 5 Napkin Burger is scheduled to open on March 23.]
[March 21, 2011 update: According to the Boston Burger Blog's Facebook page, 5 Napkin Burger is now open, though it is currently just a soft opening. It appears that the grand opening is still on track for this Wednesday, March 23.]
5 Napkin Burger first opened in the Hell's Kitchen section of Manhattan in 2008, eventually opening two more locations in Manhattan's Upper West Side and the Astoria section of Queens. The dining spots feature a variety of burgers (including turkey burgers, tuna burgers, lamb burgers, and veggie burgers), and they also offer Kobe beef hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, lobster roll sliders, steak frites, sushi, and more.
The address for this new burger place in the Back Bay is: 5 Napkin Burger, 111 Huntington Avenue (Prudential Center), Boston, MA, 02199. The website for the restaurants can be found at: http://www.5napkinburger.com/
