The Fort Point District of Boston is going to be the site of a food event this weekend, and it will focus on foods sourced from the New England region.
According to the event's website, the Boston Local Food Festival is going to be held on Saturday, October 2 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Congress Street Bridge and outside of the Boston Children's Museum. The event will feature freshly harvested seafood and produce, food items that have been created using locally grown ingredients, tastings of regional craft beers and handcrafted wines, as well as workshops, demonstrations, competitions, music, children's activities, and more.
The event organizers ask that patrons bring water bottles, reusable shopping bags, and garden items to donate. When the festival is over, local foods will be given to families in need via South Boston Grows and The Food Project.
Admission to the Boston Local Food Festival is free.
