A new Japanese dining spot will soon be opening in Braintree.
According to the Braintree Forum and Wicked Local, Sake Japanese Restaurant is going to open on Washington Street in South Braintree Square, with an expected opening date sometime in October. The article mentions that the eatery, which will have a capacity of 35, has been unable to receive a beer and wine license from the town because there are no more licenses available, but members of the Braintree board of license commissioners are hoping to add one more license, which would apparently go to Sake if approved. [October 25 update: According to The Braintree Forum and Wicked Local, Sake has still not been able to get a beer and wine license. If and when they do, we will post another update here.]
[January 31, 2011, update: Sake Japanese Restaurant is now open.]
[June 8, 2011, update: According to the Patriot Ledger, Sake Japanese Restaurant has been awarded a beer-and-wine license, thanks to additional liquor licenses being allowed by the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission to Braintree due to the community's population growth.]
Sake will be located between two other South Braintree dining spots on Washington Street--Sintra, which is an upscale Mediterranean and American restaurant, and Ashley's, which is a breakfast and lunch place.
The address for this new Japanese restaurant in South Braintree Square is: Sake Japanese Restaurant, 910 Washington Street, Braintree, MA, 02184.
