Darul Kabab Opening in Former Banjo's Space in Cambridge

A halal restaurant is going to be opening in North Cambridge, moving into the space where a roast beef place used to be.

According to the Cantabrigia blog, Darul Kabab is planning on opening at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Walden Street (just west of Porter Square), replacing the short-lived Banjo's Roast Beef, which closed a few months ago. The blog entry mentions that the new eatery will focus on Bangladeshi, Indian, and Pakistani fare, with curry, kabob, and rice dishes offered.

A License Commission General Hearing note on the City of Cambridge website indicates that Darul Kabab is planning to have seating for 37, and that it will be open for lunch and dinner, with hours being 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sundays.

[December 28 update: According to a poster on the Chowhound site, Darul Kabab is now open.]

The address for this new restaurant in North Cambridge is: Darul Kabab, 2072 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140.
