[Ed note: This article was updated on December 3.]
A restaurant in North Cambridge that featured Thai and Vietnamese food has apparently shut its doors after being in business for about eight years, and it looks like a new Thai restaurant will be moving into the space.
Based on information from a post on the Davis Square LiveJournal page, Pho House on Mass. Ave. has closed down "for personal reasons," according to a note on the door of the place. Pho House, which was formerly known as Thai Kitchen, featured such Thai dishes as tamarind duck, mango chicken, massaman curry, and pad Thai, while the Vietnamese section of the menu included hot and sour fish soup, steak and tendon noodle soup, and grilled shrimp vermicelli. The restaurant was open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.
Soon after Pho House's closure, a sign went up in front of the door stating that Yummy Thai Cuisine will be moving into the space. Currently, there is no word on when the new restaurant might open; as soon as we received word on the place, we will post another update here. [December 20 update: Yummy Thai Cuisine is now open for business.]
The address for the now-closed Pho House (and upcoming Yummy Thai Cuisine) is 2261 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140.
Thanks to a poster on the Chowhound site for initially bringing this to our attention.
