Sichuan Gourmet Opening in Sharon

A new Chinese restaurant is coming to Sharon, and the people behind it happen to be the owners of three other eateries in the Boston area.

Based on information from the Town of Sharon website as well as the Sharon Advocate and Wicked Local, the people behind Sichuan Gourmet in Billerica, Brookline, and Framingham are going to be opening a new dining spot in the Heights Shopping Plaza on Route 27 where Lilac Blossom used to be. It appears that the name of the new restaurant may also be Sichuan Gourmet (the town of Sharon site has it as "d/b/a/ Sichuan Gourmet Sharon"), though both sites mention that the company behind it is "Ginkgo Restaurant, Inc." Based on the Sichuan Gourmet website--which does mention that the new restaurant in Sharon is opening soon--it appears that the name may indeed be Sichuan Gourmet, but if this is not the case, we will post an update here.

[December 17 update: The name of the new restaurant in Sharon is indeed Sichuan Gourmet, and it is now open for business. Thanks to Devra First of the Boston Globe for posting this update on Twitter.]

Sichuan Gourmet first opened in Billerica in 2002, with the Framingham location opening a couple of years later. The Brookline location opened this past spring, moving into the space on Beacon Street where Chef Chang's House used to be.

The address for this new Chinese restaurant in Sharon is: Sichuan Gourmet, 386-388 South Main Street, Sharon, MA, 02067. The website for all of the Sichuan Gourmet restaurants can be found at: http://www.laosichuan.com/
