A new Indian restaurant is coming to Lexington, moving into the space formerly occupied by a swimwear shop.
According to the restaurant's website, Royal India Bistro will be opening on Meriam Street in Lexington Center (across from the Lexington Green), taking over the spot where Beach Front Property Swimwear used to be. The eatery, which will be serving both lunch and dinner, may be opening in the next week or so, based on a post within the Chowhound site.
The menu at Royal India Bistro looks to feature both Northern Indian and Southern Indian specialties, with roti (baked wheat bread), palak paneer (cottage cheese with spinach and ginger), kabuli chana (chickpeas with garlic and ginger), and biryani (a rice dish) in the former category, and dosas (stuffed crepes) and uttapam (thin pancakes made with rice and lentils) in the latter category. A number of tandoori specialties will be available, as well as a variety of curry dishes.
[December 28 update: According to their Facebook page, Royal India Bistro is now open.]
The address for this new restaurant in Lexington Center will be: Royal India Bistro, 7 Meriam Street, Lexington, MA, 02420. The website can be found at: http://bistroroyalindia.com/
