A new "green" restaurant featuring such items as small plates, pizza, and homemade soft-serve ice cream is coming to the Central Square/Kendall Square section of Cambridge, and the people behind it come from a now-closed combination restaurant/boutique in Boston (and one of them currently runs a high-end restaurant in the western suburbs).
According to an article in The Feast, Area Four is planning to open at 500 Technology Square on Main Street, with an expected opening toward the end of April. The article states that the people who ran the Fort Point spot Achilles-Persephone--which was also known as The Achilles Project and which closed about a year and a half ago--are opening the eatery, while one of the two folks behind Area Four is the chef and owner of Lumiere in West Newton. Area Four will feature a wood-burning oven, room for more than 150, and an adjoining coffee shop, and it appears that the restaurant will be open for both lunch and dinner and will have both beer and wine.
[May 18 update: According to BostonChefs.com and Adam's Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog, the bakery and cafe section of Area Four is now open (for breakfast and lunch), with the main restaurant opening for lunch and dinner in a couple of weeks.]
[June 15 update: According to the restaurant's Facebook page, Area Four will open for dinner starting this Friday (June 17).]
The address for this new restaurant in Cambridge is: Area Four, 500 Technology Square (Main Street), Cambridge, MA, 02139.
