A landmark Boston restaurant has temporarily closed, and the person who used to run the operations of the eatery has taken control of it once again.
According to The Boston Herald, Locke-Ober on Winter Street has changed hands, with David Ray, the president of Locke-Ober Co.--and the owner of the building in which it is housed--regaining control of business operations, which he had given to Paul Licari and well-known chef Lydia Shire about 10 years ago. The Herald mentions that Lydia Shire will continue to be involved with the restaurant, but that Paul Licari may apparently be out of the picture.
The Herald had also reported earlier that Locke-Ober temporarily closed over the past weekend for remodeling, and would possibly remain closed until early March, when Boston Restaurant Week begins, though it may reopen before then.
Locke-Ober which first opened in 1875, has featured classic American fare over the years, including steak, seafood, chicken, pork, and lamb dishes.
The address for Locke-Ober is: Locke-Ober, 3 Winter Place, Boston, MA, 02108.
