A new Japanese restaurant is coming to the Hong Kong Market in Allston, and it will be moving into the space where a popular Asian eatery used to be.
Based on posts within the Chowhound site, Pikaichi is planning to open where Ken's Ramen House was until closing about a month ago. (Ken's Ramen House closed after being in business for about five years, with the reason for the closing being due to the owner's decision to move back to Japan.)
According to the new restaurant's Facebook page, Pikaichi will be open for lunch and dinner (11:30 AM to 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:45 PM daily) and will feature dishes that are under $10. The page also mentions that Pikaichi will have waiter service and will be accepting credit cards. Food items that Pikaichi will apparently be serving include Tokyo Shoyu Ramen, Tonkatsu Curry Rice, and Yaki Don.
Expect a March opening for Pikaichi, according to their Facebook page. [March 17 update: According to their Facebook page, Pikaichi is planning to open on Monday, March 21. Thanks to a poster on Chowhound for bringing this to our attention.]
The address for this upcoming Japanese restaurant within the Hong Kong Market in Allston will be: Pikaichi, 1 Brighton Avenue, Allston, MA, 02134. Their Facebook page can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pikaichi/149046325152192
