More Restaurants Could Be on the Way to Brookline Avenue in the Fenway

Boylston Street in Boston's Fenway neighborhood has seen the opening of several new restaurants over the past year or so, and now nearby Brookline Avenue may be seeing new dining spots as well, as plans for a hotel, complete with retail and restaurant space, are in the works.

According to the Boston Business Journal, Boylston Properties Co. is planning to build a 175-room hotel (apparently a Marriott Residence Inn) on Brookline Avenue, replacing a parking lot and a space where ACE Tickets currently resides (at the corner of Burlington Avenue). The article mentions that in addition to the hotel, there will be 6,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the ground floor of the building, though there is no word on which restaurant(s) might be opening there.

Construction on the hotel may be starting by this fall.

In addition to any restaurants moving in with the opening of the new hotel, Brookline Avenue will be seeing the opening of a new Yard House (one opened awhile back in Dedham), and a location of Sal's Pizza recently opened along the street as well. Nearby Boylston Street has been a hotbed of activity of late, seeing the opening of such places as Basho, Citizen Public House, Jerry Remy's, and Tasty Burger.
