Owner of Now-Closed La Stanza Diva Teaming Up with Martinos Diner in Woburn

The person behind a now-closed Italian restaurant in Woburn is about to get back onto the local restaurant scene, partnering with the folks behind a diner located a little ways down the street from her former spot.

Lynne Howell, who was the chef and owner of La Stanza Diva on Main Street in Woburn Center, is heading to Martinos Diner (also on Main Street, heading toward the Winchester line), creating a menu that will be offered Wednesday through Saturday nights initially. As with her previous restaurant, dinner at Martinos will be BYOB. Currently, Martinos is a breakfast and lunch spot with a capacity of about 30 that has Greek-influenced diner fare, residing in the space where the New South End Cafe used to be.

La Stanza Diva first opened about 20 years ago in the northern part of Woburn, eventually moving to the downtown area until it closed last year. The restaurant featured mostly Northern Italian, Southern Italian, and Mediterranean fare.
