A landmark Italian restaurant in the North End of Boston that has been in business since just after World War II is filing for bankruptcy.
According to The Boston Globe, the owners of Joe Tecce's on North Washington Street plan to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection today, and they will be looking to reorganize while keeping the restaurant open. The article mentions that the filing is apparently the result of debt occurred due to major disruptions that happened during the Big Dig construction project.
Joe Tecce's first started out in the late 1940s, eventually becoming one of the most popular restaurants in Boston, with such well-known folks as Nat King Cole, Al Pacino, Liz Taylor, and Frank Sinatra dining there over the years, according to the Globe.
