Update: 94 Mass Ave in Boston's Back Bay to Become Mass Ave Tavern

[Ed note: This article has been updated on July 20, which is the day 94 Mass Ave becomes the Mass Ave Tavern.]

A restaurant near the western edge of Boston's Back Bay has temporarily closed after being in business for only about a half year, and the group behind the eatery is reopening the spot after revamping the interior, updating the menu, and making a slight change to the name.

According to a poster on the Hiddenboston Twitter page as well as another poster on Chowhound, 94 Mass Ave closed its doors over the weekend, with the restaurant mentioning that they will be reopening this week under the name Mass Ave Tavern. 94 Mass Ave, which first opened in late January of this year (replacing Match Burgers and Martinis), has focused mainly on comfort food items such as shaved serrano ham, truffled macaroni and cheese, Kobe beef sliders, lobster tacos, and fried chicken with biscuits. An extensive cocktail list has also been featured at the restaurant.

[July 20 update: Mass Ave Tavern plans to open tonight at 6:00 PM.]

The address for this space is 94 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA, 02215.
