A restaurant and sports bar has just opened in the Kendall Square section of Cambridge, and its name will probably be familiar to some.
According to the Boston Marriott Cambridge website, Champions Sports Bar opened within the hotel on Broadway August 26, bringing to the area a place to get pub grub, classic American fare, and drinks of all kinds while watching a game. The new restaurant, which is the second Champions in the Boston area (the first being in the Boston Marriott Copley Place on Huntington Avenue), includes a dining section, a bar area, and a seasonal outdoor patio, along with 20 flat-screen TVs. The menu at the new Champions includes such items as fried calamari, chili, soft pretzels, lobster rolls, Italian sausage, rib eye steak, fish and chips, burgers, and wings. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
