Highlights for the Week Ending October 21, 2011

A number of stories centering around the Boston-area restaurant scene came out over the past week, including a National Sandwich Day competition coming to Cambridge, news on a South End restaurant closing soon, and the introduction of food trucks to the Longwood and BU areas. In addition, our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) had a new photo slideshow on good macaroni and cheese dishes as well as a live online food discussion on dive bars in the Boston area and a photo of a red velvet whoopie pie from a bakery in the North End.
