An Asian restaurant that opened in Hingham last year now has a new name and a slightly different menu.
According to a poster on the Hiddenboston Twitter page, Typhoon Asian Bistro & Lounge is now called Zendo Asian Bistro & Lounge. The website for Zendo mentions that the place that "is formerly known as Typhoon Asian Bistro & Lounge...has been re-branded to reflect the taste and lifestyle of today's customers," though the Facebook page for the now-closed Typhoon Asian Bistro seems to distance that restaurant from the new spot, implying that a new location of Typhoon could be in the works for the Hingham area at some point.
Typhoon Asian Bistro & Lounge first opened in Hingham in August of 2010, featuring sushi and teppanyaki, along with an array of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai dishes. (The original Typhoon Restaurant on Boylston Street in Boston's Back Bay remains open.) Zendo Asian Bistro & Lounge appears to have similar fare, though the menus at the two restaurants are not identical.
