On Saturday, November 5, the zoo will be having a birthday party for Kambiri, a baby gorilla who turns one. Part of the festivities will include free miniature dark chocolate cupcakes with banana buttercream frosting to the first 250 visitors to the Tropical Forest at the zoo, courtesy of Sweet Cupcakes. In addition, the group of shops will offer a "Bananas for the Zoo" cupcake, donating $1.00 from each cupcake sold during the time period from November 5 to November 11 to Zoo New England. The limited-edition cupcake will have banana buttercream frosting on a dark chocolate cake, finished with a banana chip.
