An Italian restaurant in Somerville that has been in business for more than a decade is shutting its doors, and a new eating and drinking establishment is going to be moving into its space.
According to The Somerville Journal and Wicked Local, it looks like Lil Vinny's Ristorante in Magoun Square is closing for good, possibly making way for a retro bar called Daddy Jones, which will be a 1980s or 1990s-style spot that features small bites and possibly movie nights. (The person behind Daddy Jones may be coming from nightclub owners The Lyons Group, according to the article.) Lil Vinny's first opened on Medford Street about 12 years ago, featuring mostly Southern Italian fare, including such dishes as chicken pomodoro, ziti and meatballs, spinach ravioli, beef bracciola, and veal parmigiana.
