The Boston Globe reports that Counter Culture Coffee will be opening a school on Somerville Avenue at the western edge of Union Square, taking over the space where Grand boutique used to be. The article states that when it opens this summer, the Somerville location of the Counter Culture Coffee training center will be the chain's first brick-and-mortar school in Massachusetts, with its other training centers being in New York City, Washington, D.C., Durham, NC, and Atlanta. The new training center will have a variety of equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and handcrafted brewer wares, according to the Globe.
Counter Culture Coffee currently works with such Boston-area places as Espresso Royale, Journeyman Restaurant, Pavement Coffeehouse, and Render Coffee.
